Meet The Team

Premlada (Nat) Nobprahai, MBA

  • Nat is a Tax Accountant at Churchwell Hedman Tax Group and has been with the firm since 2013. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Thai Chamber of Commerce in March of 2004.  Nat continued her education to complete her Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Pittsburg State University.  Her professional experience includes Emerald Financial, Inc. (H&R Block) where she worked as a Tax Associate.  She also worked for ING Funds (Thailand) Company Limited as an Operation Officer.  Nat’s attention to detail and analytical work aids her in tax preparation and planning as she enjoys the challenge to keep up with the ever-changing tax rules.
  • Nat’s interests and hobbies include shopping (online), reading a good book, and getting eight hours of sleep when it isn’t tax season! She is a member of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professional Network.

Cejay N. Churchwell, BSBA

  • Cejay is the Case Administrator and Marketing Director for Churchwell Hedman Tax Group. She has worked part-time with the firm since 2010 and has now joined the team on a full time basis. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Management from Missouri Southern State University in 2012. Previously a paralegal for a Fortune 500 Company, she has grown an appreciation for the small business community. Cejay enjoys working in Tax Resolution Services and interacting with clients as her duties include case management, sales and marketing, as well as administrative work throughout the firm.
  • Cejay’s interests and hobbies include playing recreational sports, traveling, and keeping active. She is a member of the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professional Network.

Deanna Leann Quinly, BSBA

  • Leann is a Senior Accountant at Churchwell Hedman Tax Group and has been with the firm since 1998. She completed her Bachelor Science in Business Administration in Accounting from Missouri Southern State College in 1997. Leann’s role in the firm encompasses all aspects of bookkeeping and payroll for businesses where she enjoys interacting with clients and working with numbers. She is a consistent problem solver and works with her clients to ensure they stay on track.
  • Leann’s interests and hobbies include, reading, bowling, golfing, hanging lakeside all while spending time with her daughter and watching her daughter in all the activities she is involved. Leann belongs to PLAY Sertoma and is active in the Boys & Girls Club of Joplin.

Christine M. Churchwell

  • Christine is the Office Manager for Churchwell Hedman Tax Group and has been with the firm since 2016. Her administrative experience began in her early twenties with her father’s accounting firm.  She enjoys interacting with clients and managing the daily tasks associated with running the firm.
  • Christine’s interests include spending time with her husband and their seven children. She loves Turner Classic Movies, reading, and taking care of people.  She is involved with the Joplin Area Catholic Schools, St. Peter’s Church, and Dillion International Adoption Agency.

Jennifer M. Cunningham

  • Jennifer is an Assistant Tax Preparer for Churchwell Hedman Tax Group and has been with the firm since 2016. Her experience with tax preparation began in 2014 where she worked for Liberty Tax as a Tax Associate.  She enjoys preparing tax returns while continuing to educate herself in the tax and accounting field.
  • Jennifer’s interests and hobbies include spending time with her husband, Caleb, and their two children, Bree and Brantley. She also enjoys horseback riding, working in horse rescue and dog rescue. She is a member of the Wonder Weim Rescue, a weimaraner rescue based out of St. Louis, MO.

Rick Cowley, BSBA

  • Rick is a Tax Accountant for Churchwell Hedman Tax Group and has been with the firm since 2013. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from Missouri Southern State College. His professional experience includes Vice President of business for Messenger College and accountant at BKD. His role at the firm includes completion of specific business tax returns, depreciation schedules and more. He enjoys communicating with clients and providing excellent client service.
  • Rick’s interests and hobbies include spending time with his wife, Kathy of 35 years, their two children and grandchildren. He is a big sports fan and loves to golf and fish, but mainly takes care of their menagerie, consisting of 2 quarter horses, 4 mini horses, 2 llamas, along with dogs and cats. They enjoy gardening and wouldn’t have it any other way but living in the country and enjoying the outdoors.

Janie Ruddick

  • Janie is a Client Accounting Assistant and works directly with Leann. She has been with the firm since 2016. Her role in the firm includes the many duties of bookkeeping and payroll services for our clients. She is dedicated to providing our clients with great service where her attention to detail and problem solving skills are highlighted. Working alongside Leann, she enjoys teamwork and interacting with the staff.
  • Janie’s interests and hobbies include spending time with her husband, Dave, her two sons and their German Shepherd, Rambo. She is active with her family’s church and enjoys entertaining family and spending time with them. She enjoys trips and cruises with Dave that have included, The Grand Caymans, Alaska and many more places.

Kathy Crites

  • Kathy is the Administrative Assistant for Churchwell Hedman Tax Group and has been with the firm since 2017. After losing her husband of 40 years, Kathy decided to retire from 41 years in banking but wanted to continue working where she continues to excel in providing clients with outstanding customer service. Her role in the firm includes all front office duties from client intake, scheduling, and coordination throughout each department.
  • Kathy’s interests and hobbies include spending time with her and Don’s daughter, Sarah. They are animal lovers and spend time with their 3 horses, 1 donkey and 3 cats. She enjoys flea marketing and going to various Comic Cons with Sarah.
